Talk, Leeds

Circles of Recognition, Henry Moore Institute, Leeds

This afternoon event at the Henry Moore Institute is a collaborative investigation organised through Leeds Arts University, Leeds Beckett University and University of Leeds. Nearly one hundred years after Henry Moore studied in Leeds with the help of an ex-serviceman's grant, this event looks at what it means to pursue a creative practice today and what structures of support exist in Leeds for early and mid-career artists.

The afternoon will consist of discussions and performances delivered by artists, academics and curators selected by the three universities.

Participants include:

Alan Dunn (Leeds Beckett University), Alex Farrar (independent), Sheila Gaffney (Leeds Arts University), Marion Harrison (Leeds Beckett University), Jill McKnight (independent), Nocturne* (Leeds-based crit group), Harold Offeh (independent), Hardeep Pandhal (independent), Claire Potter (Liverpool John Moores University), David Steans (Leeds Arts University), Peter Suchin (independent), Paulette Terry Brien (The Grundy Art Gallery, The International 3), Nick Thurston (University of Leeds).
